Fife Constabulary is committed to
delivering a quality of service, which meets the needs and
expectations of all the communities of Fife.
We seek to reduce crime and the
fear of crime in all sections of the community in particular to
increase trust and confidence in policing amongst minority
community groups.
We have published a Race Equality
Scheme and a Policy on Policing the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and
Transgendered Community and we would welcome your views and
comments on these documents. Please contact the Force with any
comments by telephone - 0845 600 5702 or e-mail
contact@fife.pnn.police.uk.
Recognising that members of the
community may be reluctant to approach the Police directly we have
introduced self-referral forms for race and homophobic incidents.
These forms have been specially designed for anyone who does not
feel able to report a racist or homophobic incident directly to the
Police.
Use of a self-referral form will
serve two main purposes. Firstly it will ensure that the
Police become aware of an incident and matters surrounding it and
secondly, where sufficient information is available, it will
enable officers to investigate the incident.
With both forms you have the
option to submit the details anonymously. This is so that any
incident reported in this way is recorded and contributes to an
overall police awareness of the occurrence of race and
hate crime.
