PC 1109 Gordon Cameron
I joined Fife Constabulary in 2006 and was initially stationed
at Cupar. Shortly after completing my probationary period I worked
in the Eastern Divisional Crime Team for a 10-month period before
returning as a beat officer at Howe of Fife in October 2009.
Policing Priorities in your area
Priority 1 - Youth disorder (Strathmiglo parks, cemetery
and church grounds)
Progress update:
-
Officers continue to carry out regular foot
patrols in Strathmiglo.

Officers carried out regular visits to off
licences and made them aware of older youths selling alcohol to
underage drinkers in the Strathmiglo area.

Local youths in the area advised of the impact
of their behaviour in the area.

Continued liaison with Community Learning and
Development regarding providing opportunities for young persons in
the Strathmiglo area.

Several hours of foot patrol have been
carried out in Strathmiglo in efforts to deter offenders prior to
offending.

Ongoing licensed premise checks have been
carried out at in efforts to detect offenders and uphold licensing
laws.

A group of local youths were identified.
Officers continue to liaise with youths in an attempt to build
relations and prevent offending.

Youth projects in Strathmiglo at planning
stage. Require to identify street football provision &
other informal sports and family fun days planned for the area.

Update 2 June - Several hours of high
visibility foot patrols have been carried out in the area by PC
Cameron.

Community and response officers continue to
carrying out regular checks of licensed premises in Auchtermuchty
and Strathmiglo area.

Officers continue to gather intelligence
relating to this priority.

Several hours of high visibility foot patrol
was carried out in both Strathmiglo and Auchtermuchty on the
weekend of 9 July 2010.

Several licensed premises were visited on the
weekend of 9 July 2010. No offences detected at this time.
-
Five local youths identified and charged in
relation to various anti-social crimes and offences within
Auchtermuchty in the week commencing 4 July 2010.
- Summer Family Fun Day has been organised at Station
Park on Tuesday 20 July 2010.
Priority 2 - Speeding (Burnside,
Auchtermuchty and A912 Strathmiglo)
Progress update:

Officers continue to liaise with local
authority regarding traffic calming measures.

A91 Gateside is on Fife Camera Partnership
priority list ensuring constant attention and use of the camera van
in the area.

Speedar has been deployed on A912 Strathmiglo.
Directly outside Glebe Park, Strathmiglo. No offences detected.
-
20 mph zones planned for Strathmiglo in the
future. Traffic calming measures already in place at both
Strathmiglo and Gateside.

Liaison between community officers and Fife
Camera Partnership has taken place regarding Speedar surveys and
speed checks carried out in the Strathmiglo area.

Speedar carried out at Glebe Park,
Strathmiglo on 7 July 2010. No offences detected and no
warnings were issued.

Fife Safety Camera Partnership are aware of
the issues surrounding the area with regards to speeding vehicles
and will give attention to the area via mobile speed camera when
possible with a view to both detecting and deterring irresponsible
drivers.

Proposals are in place to make the residential
areas of Strathmiglo and Auchtermuchty 20 mph zones.
Priority 3 - Quadbikes - Strathmiglo
Progress update:
- Several hours of high
visibility foot patrol carried out in Strathmiglo on the weekend of
9 July 2010. No quad bikes observed within the
village.
