Fife Constabulary – SMS Text Messaging Service
On Friday 28th April 2006, Fife Constabulary launched a new SMS
text service for Deaf sign language users and hard of hearing
people. This service is only available to Fife residents who
register with us. Those who are not registered cannot use this
service.
This service can be used to contact the Police, who will also be
able to pass messages to the Ambulance and Fire Service.

forms:

Registration form (PDF
version)
Once you have completed your registration form, please return it
to:
Fife Constabulary
Force Contact Centre
Police Headquarters
Detroit Road
Glenrothes

We will then write to you giving you the SMS number to send SMS
text messages to. You may wish to retain the letter should you need
to advise us of any changes to your mobile number.
Points to remember
- Must complete registration form before you can use this
service.
- SMS text messages are sometimes slow, depending on your network
provider.
- Emergency situations – you can still text, but you should
continue to ask someone to phone for you as there may be a delay in
the message being received depending on your network.
- You cannot send videos or photos
- If you change your mobile number – you must let police know by
either returning the tear off slip which will be sent to you
confirming your registration or alternatively email your new
details to contact@fife.pnn.police.uk
If you have difficulty registering for the service you can
