Lottery Scams

People in Fife have been receiving letters/emails advising them that they have won a foreign lottery, e.g Canadian Lottery, Spanish Lottery, etc. and requesting payment of a 'processing fee' to release the winnings.

This is another form of advanced fee fraud.

If you have entered a genuine lottery you have already paid up front to purchase a ticket. If you have purchased a ticket for a foreign lottery and receive notification of a win check it out with their official lottery office. The chances are however that this 'win' will come as a complete surprise to you.

DO NOT send any money.
