Customer Contract
Where there is no danger to the public safety and the
applicant satisfies all legislative criteria, and:
- completes the application form
honestly and accurately
- sends four photographs of the
correct size
- signs one him or
herself
- has one signed by the
countersignatory or referee
- sends a cheque for the correct
amount payable to Fife Council
- has the two referees return
their forms direct to Firearms Licensing,
Fife Constabulary will endeavour to process the application
within the following times, from date of receipt:
- grant, renewal or variation of a firearm
certificate - within 20 working days
- grant or renewal of a shot gun
certificate - within 20 working days
- change of address - within 5 working
days
- issue of European Firearms Pass
- within 3 working days
- issue of temporary permit - within 3
working days.
No commitment can be made for Visitor Firearm or Shot Gun
Permits due to the requirement for checks with InterPol. It
must be noted that applications for Visitor Permits should be made
by the sponsor no later than 28 days before the date the visitor is
due to arrive in the U.K. Failure to do so could well result
in the permit not being granted in time.
