PC 30 Alan Nairn
I joined Fife Constabulary in 1981 and was initially stationed
at Dunfermline. In January 1988, I was transferred to Eastern
Division to work from Anstruther Section Station. In 2000, I
undertook the community responsibilities for Anstruther Section. I
live in the Cellardyke area.
I am a member of Anstruther Bowling Club and the Anster Haddies
Running Club.
Policing priorities in your area
Priority 1 - Target drug users
Progress update:
- 4 persons searched under Section 23 of
Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. One positive result for possession
of drugs.

13 March 2010 – one person searched under Sect
23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. Negative search.

On 29 April, one person was searched under
Sect 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 – positive result.

On 30 May, 3 people were searched with
positive outcomes.

On 27 June, 2 people were searched with one
positive result.
Priority 2 - Target speeding vehicles entering and
exiting the west side of Pittenweem
Priority 3 - Underage drinking in Anstruther and
Pittenweem
Progress update:
- High visibility foot patrols were
carried out on 26 February, 4, 5 & 6 March, 2010. No trace of
any youths at identified hot spots.
- 3 youths searched for alcohol –
negative result.
- 1 ASBO Ticket issued on 6 March
2010.
- 12 March – 9 youths searched for
alcohol. Quantity of alcohol recovered. 4 youths referred to
DAPL.
- 13 March – 2 youths searched for
alcohol. Quantity of alcohol recovered. 1 youth referred to
DAPL.
- Advice given to off-sale licensees
regarding selling of alcohol to young persons in Anstruther and
Pittenweem.

High visibility foot patrols were carried out
between 20 March and 15 May at identified hotposts.

Between 20 March and 15 May numerous youths
were stopped and searched for alcohol, a quantity of alcohol was
confiscated and 5 youths were referred to DAPL.

Officers continue to carry out test purchase
operations in the area.

High visibility and plain-clothes foot patrols
have been carried out on the following dates; 4, 5, 11, 12 & 19
June at identified hotspots.

Officers carried out 13 stop and searches in
the Anstruther and Pitenweem areas resulted in 9 positive results
for possession of alcohol.
