Force's Physician receives her MBE from the Queen
On 13 July Dr Kranti Hiremath our Forensic Physician (formally
Forensic Medical Examiner (FME)) was awarded an MBE in a ceremony
hosted by her Majesty the Queen at the Palace of Holyrood House in
Edinburgh.
The award, previously announced in the Queens New Year's
Honours list, recognises the outstanding contribution that Kranti
has made to the Police Service in Scotland.
Dr Kranti Hiremath MBE MBBS DRCOG MFFP DipFM MFFLM has worked
with Fife Constabulary since 2004 and previously worked with
Lothian and Borders Police. In a Scottish context, she is a
recognised expert in sexual crime and sits on the COPFS Expert
Advisors Group on Sexual Crime and the Managed Clinical Network for
child sexual abuse.
On the national UK stage, she sits as Scottish Forensic
Physician to the Forensic Medicine Committee of the British Medical
Association. Dr Hiremath is also active at the faculty of
forensic and legal medicine at the Royal College of
Physicians.
Chief Constable Norma Graham has congratulated Kranti on her
award: “This is a wonderful and very well deserved honour and one
that Kranti, her family and the Force can be extremely proud
of”.
